Kopfjäger Ambush Assembly Manual (KJ85005)
AMBUSH ASSEMBLY:
The Ambush is a fully patented (U.S. Patent 9.200,858 B2) shooting device designed from the ground
up with hunters in mind. Shoot with confidence from the Ambush.
A bipod is required for the Ambush assembly to be functionable. If purchased with a bipod, simply
attach the bipod to the picatinny rail section located on the frame of the Ambush. The rubber textured grip portion of the Ambush is designed to slip over the window sill of most deer blinds.
The Ambush is designed to fold into a compact package for easy stowage.
AMBUSH ADJUSTMENTS:
This grip portion is adjustable by removing the three screws located on the underside of the grip. This
will allow the shooter to reposition the grip portion of the desired setting and reattach the screws. This
feature enables the frame of the Ambush to extend deeper into the deer blind. (figure 1) Another adjustment feature that enables fitting the Ambush into different blind designs is the picatinny rail section. It is important to attach the bipod on the correct section of rail that supports the Ambush and
the rifle parallel to the floor of the blind. Positioning the bipod correctly is essential, because it supports
the weight of the rifle. Improper fitting of the bipod to the Ambush and the wall of the blind could cause
the Ambush and rifle to become unstable. Extending or reducing the length of the bipod legs ensures a
secure attachment of the Ambush to the blind at the proper angle. The final adjustment feature built into the Ambush are the three drilled and threaded holes on the lower
portion of the Ambush frame. Used in conjunction with one of our Kopfjäger Industries rifle rests, the
shooter is allowed to choose the mounting location that best fits the shooter, the blind and the firearm
being used. The Ambush comes with a 3/8"-16 stainless steel mounting bolt as well as a ¼"-20 bolt and can also be used with other full-sized ball head options.
ATTACHING AND DETACHING THE AMBUSH:
Worth emphasizing, Ambush installation and stability is facilitated by gravity. Any upward or lifting
motion done to the rear, hand grip or buttstock of a rifle can cause the Ambush to become detached from the blind window. Any and all movement made by the shooter to track a target or fire the rifle should be done using proper shooting techniques while staying welded into the rifle stock. The Ambush is designed to quickly and quietly move from one window to another by lifting upwards on the rifle and Ambush frame at the same time to detach, and then reseat the Ambush and firearm configuration in the desired window.
